    Ok,
    Once I have that information here is my question.
    say the information reads;
    Activated; YES
    Waranty; YES until NOV. 2014
    Locked; YES
    how can the person who owns the iPhone pull a scam on me? if the iPhone is still under contract with warranty left on the iPhone, Can they sell me the iPhone, then, they turn around and call AT&T and report the the iPhone lost or stolen, Make a insurance claim with AT&T or APPLE (whoever and whoever that is done) as a result of them doing that, they get a brand new iPhone, for free and the iPhone they sold me becomes blacklisted and useless? Can they do this and if they can how can I either block it from happening if I buy a used iPhone or how do you see this being avoided? what other scams can shady sellers pull on paeople that is currently known about that you can warn me of?

      As far as i know they replace your phone only if you enroll yourself in their insurance program which costs money.
      Moreover, you can use any authentic AT&T factory unlocking service to unlock your device even if it’s blacklisted.

    Apple has closed the holes to allow carrier checks online. Please use the method below to identify your original carrier. The phone does not need to be activiated:
